Bhubaneswar: The Bhubaneswar Municipal Corporation (BMC) has directed field teams to ensure that no garbage-vulnerable points remain in the city from February 14, ahead of the Swachh Survekshan 2025-26 cleanliness survey.
BMC Commissioner Chanchal Rana instructed sanitary inspectors, Swachh supervisors, and waste collection agencies to intensify cleaning operations and deploy additional manpower and vehicles wherever required. As part of the drive, main roads will be swept daily before 6 am, while conservancy lanes will be cleaned on alternate days to maintain litter-free conditions across all wards.
Officials have also been directed to accelerate drain desilting activities, with sludge to be removed and transported promptly to prevent blockages and unsanitary conditions. The corporation has urged residents to cooperate by disposing of waste properly and adhering to waste segregation guidelines.
The intensified sanitation push is part of Bhubaneswar’s efforts to improve its ranking in the national cleanliness survey and enhance urban living standards.
