Bhubaneswar: The Union government has granted Z+ category security to Raghav Chadha following a fresh threat assessment by central intelligence agencies.
The decision was taken by the Ministry of Home Affairs shortly after the Aam Aadmi Party-led Punjab government withdrew his earlier Z+ security cover within the state.
Z+ security is among the highest levels of protection in India and is typically accorded to individuals facing significant threat perception. With this upgrade, Chadha will now receive nationwide security cover from central forces, replacing the earlier state-specific arrangement.
Officials said the move is based on inputs from intelligence agencies that periodically review security needs of public figures.
The development comes amid ongoing political activity involving Chadha within the Aam Aadmi Party, though authorities подчеркнули that such decisions are made strictly on security considerations rather than political factors.
