Bhubaneswar: Actor Kangana Ranaut has extended support to Deepika Padukone amid the ongoing debate over regulated working hours in the film industry.
Commenting on the discussion around 8-hour shifts, Kangana said Deepika has “earned that place” after years of hard work and success, asserting that top actors have the right to define their working conditions.
She noted that priorities evolve with time, adding that Deepika is not only among the industry’s leading stars but also a mother, making it reasonable for her to set boundaries around her work schedule.
Reflecting on her own early years in Bollywood, Kangana recalled that 12–14 hour workdays were once the norm, but emphasised that perspectives within the industry are gradually changing.
Her remarks have added momentum to a broader conversation in the film industry around work-life balance, working conditions, and the need for more structured schedules for artists and crew members.
