Indian Army Departs for CINBAX-II Exercise with Cambodia

Bhubaneswar: A contingent of the Indian Army has departed to participate in the second edition of the India–Cambodia bilateral military exercise, CINBAX-II 2026.

The exercise will be held from May 4 to May 17 at the Techo Sen Phnom Thom Mreas Training Centre (Camp Basil) in Kampong Speu Province, Cambodia.

Conducted under the framework of Chapter VII of the United Nations mandate, the exercise will focus on company-level joint training for operations in sub-conventional environments, reflecting contemporary security challenges.

The Indian contingent comprises 120 personnel, primarily from a battalion of the Maratha Light Infantry Regiment, while the Cambodian side is represented by 160 personnel from the Royal Cambodian Army.

The exercise is part of India’s broader defence cooperation with friendly nations and aims to enhance interoperability, tactical coordination, and mutual understanding between the two armies.
