Odisha Plans Recruitment of 1,400+ Faculty to Address Higher Education Gaps

Bhubaneswar: The Government of Odisha is set to recruit over 1,400 professors and assistant professors to tackle faculty shortages in higher education institutions.

The move comes as a contingency measure amid delays in the recruitment process handled by the State Selection Board Odisha, which is currently stalled due to an ongoing court case affecting nearly 5,000 aspirants.

Officials said the government is committed to filling vacant teaching positions in a time-bound manner to ensure academic continuity and improve the quality of higher education across the state.

The initiative is expected to strengthen institutional capacity, reduce faculty gaps, and enhance the overall teaching-learning environment in colleges and universities.
