Suvendu Adhikari sworn in as West Bengal’s first BJP Chief Minister

Bhubaneswar: Suvendu Adhikari on Friday took oath as the first Chief Minister of West Bengal from the Bharatiya Janata Party, marking a major political shift in the state.

The oath of office and secrecy was administered by Governor R. N. Ravi at a ceremony held at Brigade Parade Ground.

Along with Adhikari, senior BJP leaders Dilip Ghosh, Agnimitra Paul, Ashok Kirtania, Kshudiram Tudu, and Nisith Pramanik were also sworn in as ministers in the new cabinet.

The swearing-in ceremony witnessed the presence of Narendra Modi, Amit Shah, and Yogi Adityanath, along with several senior party leaders and supporters.

The formation of the BJP government in West Bengal is being viewed as a significant political milestone, ending decades of dominance by regional parties in the state’s political landscape.
