Bhubaneswar: The Budget Session of Parliament began on Monday with an address by President Droupadi Murmu to members of both Houses, setting the tone for the government’s policy priorities and legislative agenda for the months ahead.
In keeping with parliamentary tradition, the President’s address laid out the broad policy direction and collective resolve guiding India’s development journey. The speech highlighted the country’s recent progress while presenting a clear roadmap for the future, with a strong emphasis on the vision of Viksit Bharat—a developed, self-reliant, and resilient India.
The address underlined sustained efforts aimed at the welfare of farmers, youth, the poor, and marginalised sections of society. It reaffirmed the government’s commitment to accelerating reforms, strengthening innovation, and improving governance to ensure inclusive and balanced growth.
