Centre for Assisted Learning (CAL) Inaugurated in Salt Lake for children with special needs

Bhubaneswar: The Centre for Assisted Learning (CAL), a one-of-its-kind, centrally located and fully air-conditioned holistic centre dedicated to supporting children with special needs such as autism, dyslexia, and Rett syndrome through inclusive education, therapeutic interventions, and life-skills development, was inaugurated today at BD-460, Sector-1, Salt Lake, Kolkata.

Established as a charitable trust, CAL aims to create a nurturing and inclusive environment for children aged 7 to 20 years, enabling them to develop independence, confidence, and life skills through meaningful learning experiences.

The inauguration ceremony commenced with a ribbon-cutting by Sri R. S. Goenka, Co-Founder & Joint Chairman of Emami Limited, and Mrs. Ratna Bhowmik, Councillor of BD Block, Salt Lake. This was followed by the ceremonial lighting of the lamp, symbolizing hope and new beginnings, led by Sri R. S. Goenka; Mrs. Ratna Bhowmik; Mr. Mohan Goenka, Vice Chairman & Whole-time Director of Emami Limited; Mrs. Shalini Sinha Gupta, Founder & Director of CAL; Ms. Neena Wagh, Founder of ALAP Trust; Ms. Amrita Panda, Founder of Deepranjani Foundation; Mr. Manish Kumar, DIG, ITBP; and Mrs. Geeta Gupta, Retired Educationist.

Speaking on the occasion, Mrs. Shalini Sinha Gupta, Founder and Director, highlighted CAL’s vision of fostering analytical evaluation, recognizing that every child is unique. She emphasized the organization’s commitment to bringing out the best in each child through scientific and psychometric therapies, guided by highly trained and experienced professionals.

The centre offers vocational training, skill-based learning programs, and therapeutic support, delivered by a highly qualified team of educators and experienced therapists. The initiative focuses on holistic development by combining academic assistance with life-skills training and vocational exposure.

With its integrated approach, CAL seeks to address the growing need for structured and supportive learning environments for children with diverse developmental needs in Kolkata while also supporting families through professional guidance and inclusive practices.

Admissions are now open for children between 7 and 20 years of age.
