Bhubaneswar: In a step towards promoting accessible healthcare, the Odisha Young Entrepreneurs Association (OYEA), in collaboration with the Rotary E-Club Coastal Bay and Manipal Hospitals, organized a comprehensive free community health camp at Netaji Club in Badagada Brit Colony, Bhubaneswar.
The initiative focused on preventive healthcare, offering residents direct access to professional medical consultations, health screenings and expert guidance on lifestyle management and disease prevention.
Strong Community Participation
A specialized team of doctors and healthcare professionals from Manipal Hospitals conducted detailed check-ups, drawing a large turnout from the local community. The success of the camp was largely attributed to grassroots mobilisation led by community figures such as Amita Lenka, Runalata Baxi, Gitanjali Pradhan, Surekha Sahoo and Swetapadma Dwivedi, who encouraged residents to take advantage of the free services.
Focus on Inclusivity
In a notable humanitarian gesture, the organisers also provided wheelchairs to two differently-abled children, highlighting the camp’s commitment to inclusive community welfare. The initiative was warmly received by families and attendees.
Key Organisers and Dignitaries
The event was spearheaded by OYEA’s Khordha President Chandana Das, with key support from Rajesh Patra, Rajendra Maharana and Sangramjit Nanda.
Representatives from Rotary E-Club Coastal Bay, including Ashish Das and Samikshya Rath, ensured smooth coordination between participating organisations.
The camp was attended by Guests of Honour Santosh Kumar Singh (Corporator, Ward No. 57) and Ajit Kumar Behera (Corporator, Ward No. 44), who praised the initiative for its contribution to improving public health awareness.
Bridging Healthcare Gaps
“Our goal is to bridge the gap between quality medical expertise and the people who need it most. By focusing on preventive care today, we ensure a healthier community tomorrow,” the organising committee stated.
Residents of Badagada Brit Colony expressed appreciation for the initiative, noting that such health camps play a crucial role in raising awareness, enabling early diagnosis and promoting a culture of preventive healthcare in urban communities.
