ICSI 5th National Conference of Corporate CS in Kolkata

Bhubaneswar, April, 2024: The 5th National Conference of Corporate CS of the Institute of Company Secretaries of India (ICSI) was inaugurated in Kolkata on 19 July 2024 on the theme Corporate CS: Transforming Governance for Viksit Bharat.

Shri Vivek Gupta, Managing Director & Chief Group Editor, SANMARG presided over as the Chief Guest at the programme.

Appreciating the role of Company Secretaries and highlighting their importance in the Corporate World, Shri Vivek Gupta said, “From advising Boards to providing ease of doing business, from streamlining compliances to providing suggestions to the Government, the hope of good governance in India Inc., rests with Company Secretaries today”. He further added “the role of a Company Secretary has taken a new dimension as they have undertaken a wide gamut of important jobs in their stride”.

CS B Narasimhan, President, the ICSI, echoed the sentiments of the Chief Guest while talking about the evolving role of Company Secretaries in building a vibrant India under Viksit Bharat. He then emphasized on how the ICSI is committed to fostering a culture of Good Governance and is building capacities of professionals alongside expanding its presence globally.

The event is set to witness Leaders from trade and industry, senior corporate professionals, corporate directors, senior officers from the government, and other stakeholders who will deliberate on the following technical sessions spanning two days:

  • SEBI LODR: Latest Amendments, Issues & Clarifications
  • Framework and Trends for ESG Reporting
  • Digitizing Governance: Building Efficacy
  • Thought Leadership: Changing Board Dynamics

The Institute also announced two of its forth coming programmes, ICSI Middle East Conference on 4-5-6 September 2024 in Abu Dhabi, UAE; and 52nd National Convention of Company Secretaries on 8-9-10 November 2024 in Mumbai.
