India’s AI & Semiconductor Push Positioned as Global Public Good, Says PM Modi

Bhubaneswar: Prime Minister Narendra Modi emphasised that India’s growing focus on artificial intelligence and semiconductor development will have benefits beyond national boundaries, contributing to global technological advancement.

Highlighting India’s development trajectory, the Prime Minister noted that the Gujarat Model continues to be widely acknowledged for balancing welfare initiatives with large-scale infrastructure growth. He underscored that inclusive development remains central to India’s progress.

During his visit to Gujarat on March 31, the Prime Minister inaugurated and dedicated projects worth over ₹20,000 crore, spanning infrastructure, connectivity, and public welfare sectors.

He also participated in heritage-related events, reiterating that 21st-century India is not merely witnessing global change but is actively shaping it. The remarks align with the country’s broader push to emerge as a leader in critical technologies such as AI and semiconductors, while maintaining a development model rooted in both economic growth and social welfare.

The statement reflects India’s ambition to position itself as a key global player in next-generation technologies while ensuring that innovation contributes to inclusive and sustainable progress.
