Bhubaneswar: The National Commission for Women (NCW) has announced that it will organise a nationwide Mahila Jan Sunwai starting March 8, 2026, aimed at hearing women’s grievances and ensuring prompt redressal.
The initiative will be conducted as part of the Commission’s flagship outreach programme “Rashtriya Mahila Aayog Aapke Dwaar.” The programme is designed to bring grievance redressal mechanisms closer to women across the country.
Addressing the media in New Delhi, NCW Chairperson Vijaya Rahatkar said the week-long Mahila Jan Sunwai will be organised in collaboration with State Women Commissions. She noted that the initiative aims to provide a direct platform for women to voice their concerns and seek timely support from authorities.
The campaign is expected to facilitate faster resolution of complaints related to women’s rights and welfare, while also strengthening coordination between the national and state-level institutions working for women’s empowerment.
