Odisha Targets Balanced Industrial Growth Through Food Processing Expansion

Bhubaneswar: The Odisha Government has directed that ‘Vande Mataram’ be sung before the National Anthem, ‘Jana Gana Mana,’ at all government functions and in government as well as government-aided schools across the state.

The directive follows guidelines issued by the Union Ministry of Home Affairs on July 9. The School and Mass Education Department has instructed all District Education Officers (DEOs), Block Education Officers (BEOs), and heads of educational institutions to ensure compliance with the order.

Similar instructions have also been issued by the Home Department to Revenue Divisional Commissioners (RDCs), District Collectors, and Superintendents of Police (SPs) for implementation at official government events across Odisha.

The government has further directed that the original lyrics, prescribed tune and correct pronunciation of both ‘Vande Mataram’ and ‘Jana Gana Mana’ must be strictly followed without any alteration during official ceremonies.

The move is aimed at ensuring uniform observance of the national song and the National Anthem at government functions and educational institutions across the state in accordance with the Centre’s guidelines.
