Odisha to Launch Statewide Campaign to Bring Out-of-School Children Back to Education

Bhubaneswar: The Odisha government will launch a statewide campaign from October 2 to November 14 to identify out-of-school children and help bring them back into the education system.

The initiative aims to ensure that every child has access to education and the opportunity to learn, grow and build a better future. As part of the campaign, local communities will be involved in identifying children who have dropped out of school, never enrolled or may be engaged in child labour.

The identified children will be connected with educational opportunities and the necessary support to facilitate their return to classrooms. Community participation is expected to play a key role in reaching vulnerable children and addressing barriers that prevent them from continuing their education.

The campaign is part of the broader target of making every gram panchayat in Odisha child-labour-free by 2029.

By combining community-level identification with educational support, the initiative seeks to strengthen efforts to protect children’s rights and ensure that they have access to education rather than being engaged in labour.

The statewide drive underscores the importance of coordinated action by communities and relevant authorities to bring every out-of-school child back into the education system.
