Odisha Yatri Expands with Focus on Safety, Driver Earnings and Digital Bus Tickets

Bhubaneswar: The Government of Odisha’s mobility platform Odisha Yatri is accelerating its statewide expansion with a dual focus on improving passenger safety and increasing driver incomes, positioning itself as a public-sector alternative in the ride-hailing ecosystem.

Launched as a zero-commission platform, Odisha Yatri has enabled drivers to collectively earn over ₹10 crore, allowing them to retain 100 per cent of ride fares. The commission-free model has enhanced transparency, strengthened driver confidence, and built user trust.

Enhanced Safety Features

The platform has strengthened its safety framework with multiple emergency tools, including:

  • SOS system directly linked to the police for immediate response

  • App-free emergency trigger for quick assistance

  • Real-time location sharing for passengers

  • Instant alerts to emergency contacts

Digital Bus Ticketing with FASTicket

Odisha Yatri has also integrated FASTicket on the Ama Bus network, allowing commuters to scan QR codes inside buses to book tickets instantly, receive digital confirmations, and access discounts. The initiative aims to promote cashless travel and digital adoption in public transport.

Statewide Expansion Plans

Currently operational in key urban centres, Odisha Yatri plans to expand services to cities such as Sambalpur and Rourkela. The government aims to build a seamless and integrated mobility ecosystem across Odisha through the platform.
