Bhubaneswar: Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Saturday extended heartfelt greetings to the nation on Dhanteras 2025, praying for happiness, prosperity, and good health for all citizens.
Taking to social media platform X, Modi said, “Heartfelt Dhanteras greetings to all my family members in the country. On this sacred occasion, I pray for everyone’s happiness, prosperity, and good health. May Lord Dhanvantari bestow his abundant blessings upon all.”
Union Home Minister Amit Shah and Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath also greeted citizens, linking the festival to the virtues of health, wealth, and duty. Yogi Adityanath noted that Dhanteras, which marks the birth of Lord Dhanvantari, symbolizes both dharma and artha, adding, “Happiness and prosperity can be achieved only through good health.”
Lok Sabha Speaker Om Birla urged people to couple personal success with social harmony and environmental protection.
Observed two days before Diwali, Dhanteras is celebrated by purchasing gold, silver, or utensils and lighting lamps in honor of the gods of health and wealth. Leaders emphasized that the festival reflects India’s timeless values of well-being, sustainability, and collective progress.
