Bhubaneswar: The Shree Jagannath Temple has announced special ritual arrangements in view of the Ketu-grasta lunar eclipse scheduled for March 3, coinciding with the auspicious festival of Dola Purnima.
According to temple authorities, the eclipse is expected to touch Puri at 3:20:17 PM. In adherence to long-standing temple traditions, the preparation of Mahaprasad and all daily rituals will remain suspended from sunrise until the conclusion of the eclipse period. Devotees have been advised to take note of the temporary changes in the schedule.
Following the completion of the eclipse and the performance of the Sarvamoksha ritual, the presiding deities will be adorned in the grand Rajadhiraj Besha between 8:00 PM and 9:30 PM.
Later, around 10:00 PM, the Chalanti Pratima will be taken in a ceremonial procession to the Dolabedi, marking the continuation of Dola Purnima observances.
Temple authorities have urged devotees to cooperate with the arrangements and adhere to prescribed guidelines during the celestial event to ensure smooth conduct of rituals.
