Bhubaneswar: India releases water from Jhelum river to Pakistan and it overflows by creating a
panic situation in PoK. Reportedly, Pakistan declares emergency in PoK due to the
sudden flood of water. Pakistani media claims India has released water to the
Jhelum river without prior information to Pakistan. A sudden overflow of Jhelum has
shown a sharp rise in water level near Muzaffarabad as reported by Duniya news.
The local administration has imposed a water emergency in Muzaffarabad and the
nearby areas. The locals were also warned by the Mosques. The pictures of sharp
overflow of water in Jhelum is going viral on the Internet. The administration and the
PM of Muzaffarabad has directed the locals to vacate the housings from the areas.
The Pakistani media trying to link the dots of suspension of the Indus Water Treaty
by India and also gave a signal that if Pakistan does not stop aiding and supporting
the cross border terrorism there will be water war. So it claims this water flow to be
the flood strike by India by releasing heavy water to Pakistan without informing. As
reported India has opened the Uri dambas result the excess overflow of water has
gone to PoK.
