Technical Glitch Disrupts CUET-UG Exam; NTA Orders Retest for Over 3,700 Candidates

Bhubaneswar: The National Testing Agency (NTA) has announced a retest for more than 3,700 candidates after a technical glitch caused delays in the conduct of the Common University Entrance Test (CUET-UG) at examination centres on Saturday.

According to the agency, the disruption was caused by an error in the examination systems operated by Tata Consultancy Services, which manages the computer-based test.

The NTA said the technical issue led to delays across multiple centres, with a majority of the affected candidates reportedly belonging to a single examination hub in Noida.

To ensure that no student is disadvantaged due to the disruption, the agency has decided to conduct a retest for all impacted candidates. More than 3,700 examinees will be eligible to appear in the fresh examination.

CUET-UG serves as the gateway for admission to undergraduate programmes in central universities and several other participating higher educational institutions across India.

The NTA stated that detailed information regarding the retest schedule, examination centres and admit cards will be communicated separately to the affected candidates. The agency also assured students that corrective measures are being implemented to prevent similar technical issues during future examinations.
