Bhubaneswar: Mahua Moitra, the TMC MP famous for her fierce speeches and high profile
controversies has tied the knot with the former BJD MP from Puri, Odisha and
Supreme Court lawyer, Pinaki Mishra in Berlin. The marriage has occurred in a low
key ceremony in Germany on 3 May. The picture of the couple posing at the iconic
Bragonberg gate of Germany has created headlines.
The marriage was a private ceremony. Both Pinaki Mishra and Mahua Moitra were
married before and later divorced from their respective partners.
The TMC MP was previously married to Danish financier Lars Brorson and later was
involved with lawyer Jai Anant Dehadrai which was a controversial relationship
ended with legal spat. In this legal span and high profile controversy Mahua was
suspended from the Parliament in 2023.
On the other hand Pinaki Mishra is a four time BJD MP from Puri, Odisha and now
succeeded by Sambit Patra from BJP. Mishra is a senior lawyer and well known for
his calm and compared debating skills. In the personal front Pinaki was married
before and has children from that marriage.
This is not the first time that any political leader is getting married at their later years
of life. Prominent congress leader Shashi Tharoor, Digvijay Singh, are in the list.
