Jharsuguda, was awarded the “India Affairs Professional CEO of the year 2017” at the 8th Annual India Leadership Conclave & Indian Affairs Business Leadership Awards 2017. The event was held at Hotel Sahara Star in Mumbai and was attended by India’s most illustrious leaders and icons, who assembled to discuss the roadmap for India’s growth trajectory along the lines of the theme of the year which, this year, was “Transformation”. Since the past seven years, the India Leadership Conclave platform has played host to some of the biggest think-tanks of contemporary leaders in various areas, be it social work, politics or business. The illustrated panels discuss and deliberate upon the theme, and come up with new mantras for development.
The event awards eminent business personalities in 49 categories, the nominees of which are selected by a jury of experts at Network 7 Media Group, the flagship media property of Indian Affairs. The team looks at the all-round progress of individuals/companies and various associations of India and trade bodies to decide on the final list of nominees, following which the voting process opens up to the public. The “India Affairs Professional CEO of the year 2017” award recognised Mr Pati’s promising and inspiring leadership at the helm of Vedanta Ltd. Jharsuguda, in a highly competitive industry, that has led to the name ‘Vedanta’ being synonymous to ‘quality and excellence’ in industry circles. His expertise in the field of aluminium, honed over three decades, coupled with his leadership and people-management skills, scored his nomination brownie points over five other CEOs with industries ranging from retail to mobility.
“I am humbled by the confidence shown in me by such eminent industry personnel. It was an honour to receive this award, and I dedicate it to all the employees of Vedanta Ltd. Jharsuguda whose hard work and drive has made Vedanta a force to reckon with. I am thankful to every one of them, and we will continue working together with excellence so our efforts bear richer fruits in the times to come”, said Mr Abhijit Pati after he received the award from Shri Raj Purohit, Member of Legislative Assembly – Maharashtra, and senior BJP leader.
