Vigyan TECH 2026 Showcases Major Advances In Food Processing Research And Innovation

Bhubaneswar: Significant achievements in food processing research and innovation were showcased during Vigyan TECH 2026 held at BRIC-National Institute of Immunology and National Institute of Food Technology Entrepreneurship and Management (NIFTEM-Kundli).

During the event, three technologies developed by NIFTEM-K were successfully transferred to industry partners and start-ups, highlighting the institute’s focus on promoting industry-ready innovations in the food processing sector.

The transferred technologies include Hybrid Dryer Technologies such as the Evacuated Tube Solar Hybrid Dryer and Hybrid Greenhouse Solar Dryer, aimed at encouraging clean-energy-based and efficient drying systems for sustainable food processing.

Another major technology transfer involved a Protein and Fiber Rich Granola Bar formulation designed to cater to the growing health and wellness food market with high-nutrition ready-to-eat products.

The institute also showcased Extruded Product Technologies featuring millet puffs, dal puffs, multigrain puffs, sweet potato puffs and nachos, supporting value addition of indigenous cereals and tubers.

Officials said the technology transfers reflect NIFTEM-Kundli’s broader mission of advancing indigenous innovations and strengthening India’s rapidly evolving food processing ecosystem through industry collaboration and commercialization.
