The Chief Minister laid the foundation stone for upgrading the 1,330-meter Tusura Airstrip runway which will be a project of Rs 65 crore. Thereafter the airstrip will be counted amongst the 2-B, where direct flights between Bolangir and Bhubaneswar can be started. This step will accelerate development in Bolangir district.
Mr Majhi, then, laid the foundation stone for building on the Upper Lantha Irrigation Project in Belpada Block, which would cost more than Rs 300 crore. The Chief Minister said in his public address that the government is planning to make the liw- irrigation regions more prominent in irrigation facilities. So the Upper Lantha project is mentioned as the special initiative. Because this project is going to be benefitting more than 38,000 farmers from 35 villages in the Belpada block by providing water facilities to about 25,000 acre of agricultural lands during both Kharif and Rabi seasons.
In his address to the public Majhi mentioned there will be a 2495 meter long dam on the river Lantha. This dam will be enhancing irrigation facilities along with generate 210 kilowatts of electricity through the hydropower units.
In the health sector CM has inaugurated Patnagarh Sub-divisional hospital and Dialysis Center, Titlagarh Dialysis Center, and laid the foundation for Patnagarh’s bypass road. The total cost of these projects would be Rs. 118 crore.
CM Majhi has given the credit to the prime minister Narendra Modi on the speedy processing of the Khurda- Balangir Railway Project.
Deputy chief minister KV Singh Deo was also present in the program. The other important dignitaries present at the even were Health and Family Welfare Minister Mukesh Mahaling, Lok Sabha MP Sangita Singh Deo, Rajya Sabha MP Niranjan Bishi, Kantabanji MLA Laxman Bagh, and Balangir Collector Gaurav Shivaji Isalwar.
