Bhubaneswar: National Energy Conservation Day 2025 was celebrated on December 14 at Vigyan Bhawan, New Delhi, highlighting India’s commitment to energy efficiency and sustainable development.
On the occasion, the President of India, Smt. Droupadi Murmu, felicitated the winners of the National Energy Conservation Awards and the National Painting Competition on Energy Conservation, recognising outstanding contributions by industries, institutions and young citizens in promoting efficient energy use and conservation practices.
The National Energy Conservation Awards honour organisations that have demonstrated exemplary performance in reducing energy consumption and adopting innovative, energy-efficient technologies. The painting competition aims to raise awareness among students and encourage creative expression on the importance of conserving energy.
National Energy Conservation Day is observed every year to promote energy efficiency as a key pillar of India’s climate action and sustainable growth strategy, and to encourage collective responsibility towards reducing energy consumption for a greener future.
