Union Minister Urges Odisha Govt to Clear ₹28.54 Crore BSNL Dues

Bhubaneswar: Union Minister for Communications Jyotiraditya M. Scindia has urged the Odisha government to clear outstanding dues of ₹28.54 crore owed to Bharat Sanchar Nigam Limited (BSNL) at the earliest.

Emphasising BSNL’s critical role in delivering telecom connectivity, particularly in rural and remote areas, Scindia said the public sector telecom operator continues to support government departments and essential services despite facing financial stress.

In a communication to the Chief Minister, the Union Minister requested that the dues be expedited to help strengthen BSNL’s financial position, maintain service quality, and ensure uninterrupted telecom services across the state.

He also highlighted that timely payments would enable BSNL to continue contributing effectively to regional connectivity, digital inclusion, and national development objectives, especially in underserved areas.
