Bhubaneswar: Zelio E-Mobility has inaugurated a new electric scooter manufacturing facility in Cuttack, marking a major expansion of its production footprint and its second plant in the country.
With the addition of the Cuttack unit, the company’s total production capacity has increased significantly from 72,000 units to 1.8 lakh units annually—registering a 150% jump. The existing Hisar plant has been optimised to produce 1.2 lakh units per year, while the new facility will contribute an additional 60,000 units.
The company said the new plant will help streamline supply chains, reduce delivery timelines, and improve inventory management for dealers and customers across Eastern and Southern India.
Officials noted that the expansion is part of Zelio’s broader strategy to strengthen its market presence in high-growth regions while supporting the rising demand for electric mobility.
The move is also expected to generate employment opportunities and contribute to the industrial growth of Odisha, reinforcing the state’s position as an emerging hub for EV manufacturing.
