Bhubaneswar: Union Minister Dharmendra Pradhan and Odisha Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi attended the grand launch ceremony of a joint venture between JSW Steel and JFE Steel Corporation, marking a significant step in the state’s industrial growth.
Speaking at the event, the Chief Minister said the initiative represents a new chapter in Odisha’s industrial journey. The joint venture will focus on manufacturing electrical steel, a critical material used in power equipment, electric vehicles, and energy-efficient technologies.
The project involves an investment of over ₹5,000 crore and is expected to generate employment for more than 16,000 people, providing a major boost to the state’s industrial ecosystem.
The development further strengthens Odisha’s position as a key steel and manufacturing hub in India, while also supporting the country’s transition towards advanced and energy-efficient industrial materials.
