Bhubaneswar: Senior journalist Palki Sharma has launched India Global Review (IGR), a digital-first global media platform headquartered in India and focused on covering international affairs from an Indian perspective.
The newly launched platform plans to expand its presence across the United States, Europe, West Asia, South Asia and Africa while operating primarily through internet-based and connected television platforms.
Speaking about the venture, Sharma said India is playing an increasingly influential role in shaping global discourse and requires a credible and independent media platform that can provide clarity, perspective and context on international developments.
She said IGR would focus on fact-based and contextual journalism at a time when global media environments are becoming increasingly polarized.
The company has already received support from institutional investors and has initiated a global hiring drive across editorial, production and digital operations.
Sharma recently stepped down as Managing Editor of Firstpost, owned by Network18, to establish the new venture after a journalism career spanning more than 24 years across television, print and digital media.
