Bhubaneswar Municipal Corporation Sets Up Cooling Stations To Provide Relief From Heatwave

BHUBANESWAR: The Bhubaneswar Municipal Corporation (BMC) has established dedicated cooling stations at key locations in the city to provide relief to residents amid rising temperatures and prevailing heatwave conditions.

According to civic officials, the cooling stations have been set up at Kalpana Square and Fire Station Square as accessible public comfort spaces aimed at reducing heat stress.

The initiative is primarily intended to support vulnerable groups, including outdoor workers, commuters, street vendors and pedestrians exposed to prolonged heat during daytime hours.

Officials said the cooling stations are part of broader heatwave preparedness and public health resilience measures being implemented by the BMC during the summer season.

The civic body has also urged residents to take precautions during peak afternoon hours and remain hydrated amid continuing high temperatures in the city.
