Bhubaneswar: A cyclonic circulation has formed over south coastal Odisha and adjoining regions at around 1.5 kilometres above mean sea level, according to Jagannath Kumar from the weather department in Visakhapatnam.
Officials stated that weather conditions are currently favourable for the further advance of the southwest monsoon into additional parts of the southeast Arabian Sea, southwest and southeast Bay of Bengal, the remaining parts of the Andaman Sea and some areas of the east-central Bay of Bengal over the next three to four days.
At the same time, severe heatwave conditions are expected to persist over coastal Andhra Pradesh for the next three days. After that period, heatwave conditions are likely to continue, though with slightly reduced intensity, for another three days.
Meteorologists indicated that the interaction between upper-air circulation systems and advancing monsoon patterns is influencing weather conditions across eastern and southern India.
Authorities have advised residents in heatwave-affected regions to avoid prolonged exposure to direct sunlight, remain hydrated and take necessary precautions against heat-related illnesses as temperatures continue to remain significantly above normal levels.
