Bhubaneswar: The Government of India has advised Indian citizens to avoid all non-essential travel to Democratic Republic of the Congo, Uganda and South Sudan until further notice in view of the evolving Ebola outbreak situation in the region.
The advisory also urged Indian nationals currently residing in or travelling to these countries to strictly follow public health guidelines issued by local authorities and maintain heightened health precautions.
According to the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare, no case of Ebola Virus Disease has been reported in India so far.
Health authorities said the government is closely monitoring the international situation and maintaining surveillance measures to prevent any potential spread of the disease. Citizens travelling abroad have also been advised to remain alert and adhere to recommended safety and hygiene protocols.
