Bhubaneswar: The National Testing Agency (NTA) has announced a retest for more than 3,700 candidates after a technical glitch disrupted the conduct of the Common University Entrance Test (CUET) for undergraduate admissions at several examination centres on Saturday.
According to the agency, the examination was delayed due to an error in systems operated by Tata Consultancy Services, which is responsible for conducting the computer-based test.
The NTA said the technical issue affected candidates at multiple centres, with a significant number of impacted students reportedly belonging to a single examination hub in Noida.
To ensure that no candidate is disadvantaged, the agency has decided to conduct a retest for all affected examinees. More than 3,700 candidates will be eligible to reappear for the examination.
CUET serves as the primary entrance examination for admission to undergraduate programmes in several central, state and participating universities across India. The NTA stated that necessary arrangements are being made to conduct the retest smoothly and fairly.
Officials said detailed information regarding the revised examination schedule, admit cards and examination centres will be communicated to affected candidates separately. The agency also assured students that measures are being taken to prevent similar technical disruptions in future examinations.
