Bhubaneswar: The Commissionerate Police has stepped up security and traffic enforcement measures across Bhubaneswar through extensive foot patrolling, naka checking, blocking operations, convoy patrolling and drunken-driving enforcement drives.
The intensified operations are aimed at strengthening public safety, improving road discipline and maintaining constant surveillance over suspicious activities across the city.
Police teams have reportedly increased night patrolling and vehicle inspections in several sensitive and high-traffic areas, with special focus on detecting drunk driving, reckless riding and suspicious movement during late-night hours.
Authorities stated that coordinated convoy patrolling and naka checking are being conducted regularly to enhance law and order preparedness and ensure quicker emergency response capability in urban zones.
Officials said the expanded enforcement measures form part of a broader strategy to deter criminal activity, strengthen visible policing and improve public confidence in city security systems.
Similar policing and enforcement operations are also being carried out in nearby urban areas, including Puri, as part of heightened security monitoring across key locations in the state.
