Bhubaneswar: A free health check-up camp was successfully organized on May 24 at the Hillview Resort Community Centre in Kantabada, Bhubaneswar, through a joint initiative of HVRWC and the Odisha Young Entrepreneurs Association (OYEA), in collaboration with Manipal Hospital.
The health camp witnessed an enthusiastic response from residents, with nearly 85 participants availing themselves of various medical consultation and screening services offered by the experienced medical team from Manipal Hospital.
The camp provided a range of preventive healthcare services including general medicine consultation, orthopedic consultation, blood pressure monitoring, blood sugar testing, complete eye screening, weight checks, and height measurements.
Organizers said the primary objective of the initiative was to promote preventive healthcare awareness, encourage early diagnosis of health conditions, and spread awareness about healthy lifestyle practices among community residents.
As a significant outcome of the programme, Manipal Hospital has also agreed in principle to offer special discounts ranging from 15 to 20 percent on diagnostic tests and other medical services for HVR residents. Officials stated that the formal proposal and detailed offer from the hospital management are expected shortly.
The organizers expressed gratitude to the management and medical staff of Manipal Hospital, members of OYEA, volunteers, and local residents for their active participation and support in making the event successful.
The initiative reflects growing community-driven efforts in Bhubaneswar to strengthen access to preventive healthcare and improve public health awareness at the grassroots level.
