Bhubaneswar: The campus of JD Birla Institute (JDBI), Kolkata, came alive with energy, creativity, and competitive spirit as it hosted the 10th edition of its flagship annual fest, INVICTUS, a vibrant, three-day celebration that brought together talent from across disciplines and institutions.
Entirely student-driven, INVICTUS is one of the most anticipated events at JD Birla Institute. Planned and executed through the collaborative efforts of students the fest reflects the institute’s strong culture of leadership, teamwork, and innovation. From conceptualising events to managing logistics and outreach, students take the lead in shaping every aspect of the festival, turning the campus into a dynamic hub of creativity and youthful enthusiasm.
The fest offers a diverse mix of events, spanning cultural performances, contemporary competitions, management challenges, sports tournaments, and e-sports contests. This unique blend provides students with an inclusive platform to demonstrate their abilities across multiple domains, be it artistic expression, strategic thinking, athletic skill, or digital gaming prowess.
Marking a significant milestone, the 2026 edition celebrated the 10th year of INVICTUS. After the festival successfully returned last year following a brief hiatus, the organising team carried the momentum forward to further strengthen the legacy of this much-loved campus tradition.
The festivities began on Day 1 with a series of sports events that set the competitive tone for the days ahead. From Day 2 onwards, the campus witnessed a vibrant convergence of cultural, contemporary, and management competitions alongside ongoing sports and e-sports tournaments. The final day continued with the remaining events, building anticipation toward the grand closing ceremony and prize distribution.
This year’s edition witnessed enthusiastic participation from around 40 colleges, including leading institutions from Kolkata, across West Bengal, and other parts of the country. The strong inter-college presence added to the competitive spirit and transformed INVICTUS into a lively platform for collaboration, exchange of ideas, and celebration of youth talent.
The closing night brought the festival to a memorable conclusion with a stand-up comedy performance by Vivek Samtani, whose lively set had the audience in splits. The evening continued with an electrifying DJ session that had students dancing and celebrating the successful culmination of the fest.
With its vibrant mix of talent, camaraderie, and student leadership, INVICTUS continues to stand as a testament to JD Birla Institute’s commitment to holistic student development and experiential learning beyond the classroom.
