Bhubaneswar: The Odisha Digital Media Federation organised a one-day Digital Media Training Camp at Milan Mandap in Bargarh, bringing together digital media representatives and journalists from 11 districts across Odisha to strengthen professional skills and promote responsible journalism in the digital age.
The programme was attended by Bargarh MLA Ashwini Sarangi and Bargarh Superintendent of Police Rabindranath Satpathy as chief guests. Addressing the participants, they encouraged journalists to uphold professional standards and play a responsible role in an increasingly digital news environment.
The training camp was organised under the leadership of Munna Sahu, President of the Bargarh District Unit; M. Durgaprasad, District Secretary; and Tarani Patel, State Secretary of the Odisha Digital Media Federation.
Focus on Digital Journalism
The technical sessions were conducted by Aravinda Das, who provided participants with practical insights into emerging trends in journalism, digital media tools, content creation and the changing responsibilities of media professionals.
The sessions focused on helping journalists adapt to the rapidly evolving digital news ecosystem while maintaining accuracy, credibility and professional ethics.
SP Emphasises Fact-Checking and Accountability
Addressing the gathering, SP Rabindranath Satpathy highlighted the growing influence of digital media as a major platform for information dissemination.
He urged journalists to verify facts before publishing news, maintain impartiality in reporting and uphold ethical standards. He stressed that accuracy, accountability and responsible reporting are essential to maintaining public trust in the media.
The participants also discussed the challenges faced by journalists in an environment where news spreads rapidly through digital platforms and social media.
