Bhubaneswar: The National Testing Agency (NTA) has extended the deadline for submission of bank account details for the refund of examination fees paid by candidates of NEET-UG 2026, which was cancelled following allegations of a paper leak.
According to an official notice, candidates can now submit their bank account details through the NEET (UG)-2026 registration portal until June 22, 2026, up to 11:50 PM.
The extension comes ahead of the NEET-UG 2026 re-examination scheduled for June 21. Earlier, while announcing the retest, the NTA had stated that no examination fee would be charged for the fresh examination and that fees already paid by candidates for the cancelled test would be refunded.
The agency had initially opened the refund details submission facility from May 22 to May 26. However, in a fresh update, it said around 13 lakh candidates have already provided their bank account information, while the extension has been granted to facilitate those who are yet to complete the process.
Candidates are required to log in to the NEET (UG)-2026 registration portal using their credentials and access the refund link to submit their preferred bank account details. The NTA has also allowed candidates to upload a cancelled cheque, if desired, to ensure accuracy of the account information.
The agency clarified that once bank account details are submitted, they will be treated as final and no further modifications will be permitted.
Nearly 23 lakh candidates had registered for NEET-UG 2026, which was conducted on May 3. The examination was cancelled by the NTA on May 12 following allegations of a paper leak. The matter is currently being investigated by the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI), while preparations are underway for the nationwide retest on June 21.
