BHUBANESWAR: Amid concerns over fuel availability and growing pressure on transportation services, the Odisha government has decided to reserve specific petrol pumps in each district exclusively for buses and trucks to ensure uninterrupted diesel supply for commercial and public transport operations.
Officials said the initiative is aimed at preventing operational disruptions, maintaining smooth movement of passenger and goods transport vehicles and reducing panic among transport operators.
Under the arrangement, district authorities will identify designated fuel stations based on records of commercial transport operators and ensure that adequate diesel stock is maintained at these outlets.
The government said the measure is intended to safeguard essential logistics and transportation services during the ongoing fuel supply concerns.
Authorities are also closely monitoring the overall distribution network and coordinating with fuel companies to prevent shortages and ensure stable supply across Odisha.
The move comes as the state government continues efforts to manage fuel distribution efficiently and avoid disruptions to public transport and freight movement.
