Bhubaneswar: The Safa Bhubaneswar mobile application has witnessed encouraging public response, with more than 200 garbage pickup bookings recorded within just 10 days of its rollout. The initiative, led by the Bhubaneswar Municipal Corporation (BMC), marks a significant step towards strengthening urban sanitation through citizen participation and digital governance.
Officials said the app enables residents to schedule garbage collection services conveniently, reducing instances of uncollected waste and promoting cleaner neighbourhoods. The early uptake reflects growing public awareness and willingness to adopt smart solutions for civic services.
The BMC highlighted that the platform is part of a broader push to make Bhubaneswar a cleaner, greener, and smarter city by integrating technology with sanitation management. Authorities have encouraged more citizens to use the app, noting that increased participation will help improve efficiency, accountability, and overall cleanliness across the city.
With the strong initial response, civic officials are optimistic that the Safa Bhubaneswar app will play a key role in transforming urban sanitation and strengthening community-driven cleanliness initiatives in the state capital.
