AMPIN Energy Transition Commissions 60 MWp Solar Project In Odisha

BHUBANESWAR: AMPIN Energy Transition has commissioned a 60 MWp group captive open access solar power project at Kantabanji in Odisha, marking the first such project developed under the Odisha Renewable Energy Policy 2022.

The company said the project was executed entirely under its management, including land acquisition, engineering, construction and commissioning activities. The solar facility has been connected to the grid through the 132 kV Kantabanji Substation.

According to the company, the project will provide clean energy to several major corporate consumers, including Bharti Airtel Ltd, Jindal Stainless Ltd, Emami Paper Mills Ltd and Quality CARE Hospitals.

Officials stated that the solar project is expected to reduce dependence on conventional grid electricity by nearly 50 per cent for participating industries while generating estimated cost savings of 25–30 per cent.

The project is also projected to help reduce carbon emissions by around 77 metric tonnes of CO₂ annually, contributing to cleaner industrial energy consumption and Odisha’s renewable energy targets.

The commissioning is being viewed as a significant step in expanding commercial and industrial renewable energy adoption under the state’s clean energy policy framework.
