Bhubaneswar: Amit Shah has gifted more than 40 kilograms of special sandalwood to the revered Pashupatinath Temple for use in sacred rituals and worship ceremonies associated with the Shree Yantra.
The sandalwood was formally handed over to temple authorities in Kathmandu through officials linked to the Pashupati Area Development Trust.
Dedicated to Lord Shiva, the Pashupatinath Temple is regarded as one of Hinduism’s holiest shrines and attracts large numbers of devotees from both India and Nepal throughout the year.
Temple authorities stated that the sandalwood will be used in important religious ceremonies and ritual practices conducted within the temple complex.
Officials noted that Nepal receives this special variety of sandalwood from India annually, describing the practice as a symbol of the deep cultural, spiritual and civilisational ties shared between the two neighbouring countries.
The gesture is also being viewed as part of the longstanding religious and cultural exchanges that continue to play a significant role in strengthening India-Nepal relations.
