Bhubaneswar: In Kolkata, BJP leader Keya Ghosh welcomed the deployment of additional observers by the Election Commission of India (EC) for vote counting in West Bengal.
The EC has deployed 165 additional counting observers and 77 police observers in the state to ensure smooth and transparent counting of votes.
Reacting to the move, Ghosh described the electoral situation in West Bengal as “war-like,” alleging that the contest is effectively between the people and Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee. She argued that the heightened deployment is necessary to maintain order and uphold the integrity of the electoral process.
The remarks come amid heightened political tensions in the state, even as elections are being conducted simultaneously in multiple regions across the country.
