Government of Odisha Launches ‘Mo Gaon Mo Tahasil’ Scheme to Deliver Revenue Services in Villages

Bhubaneswar: The Government of Odisha is set to launch the ‘Mo Gaon Mo Tahasil’ scheme aimed at bringing revenue and land-related services directly to rural residents across the state.

The initiative is designed to reduce the need for villagers to travel long distances to tahasil offices for routine revenue services and grievance resolution.

Under the scheme, tahasil officials will visit villages regularly to address public grievances and resolve revenue-related issues on the spot. Senior government officers will also be appointed as nodal officers to interact with local communities, collect feedback and monitor service delivery mechanisms.

Officials stated that the programme is intended to improve accessibility, transparency and efficiency in the state’s revenue administration system, particularly in rural and remote areas of Odisha.

The government said the scheme will function alongside broader administrative reforms, including a new Rehabilitation and Resettlement (R&R) policy and simplified land conversion procedures aimed at speeding up public service delivery and reducing bureaucratic delays.

Authorities believe the initiative will strengthen grievance redressal, improve coordination between citizens and revenue officials and ensure quicker resolution of land and administrative issues at the village level.
