Bhubaneswar: The Health and Family Welfare Department Odisha has revised and increased salaries for contractual faculty members in government Ayurvedic and Homoeopathic medical colleges across Odisha.
Under the new structure, lecturers will receive ₹70,000 per month, while readers’ salaries have been doubled from ₹40,000 to ₹80,000. Professors will now be paid ₹1 lakh per month, up from ₹50,000.
The decision, approved by the state’s Finance Department, is aimed at strengthening AYUSH education and improving the quality of teaching in alternative medicine institutions. Officials noted that the revision is expected to boost morale among faculty members and help attract and retain qualified professionals in the sector.
The move aligns with the state government’s broader efforts to enhance healthcare education and promote traditional systems of medicine.
