Bhubaneswar: The Government of Odisha has launched Odia Pakhya 2026, a 14-day statewide celebration from April 1 to April 14, aimed at showcasing the state’s rich cultural heritage and promoting Odia identity.
The initiative is being celebrated across all districts, including Bhubaneswar, with a series of themed events designed to encourage community participation and cultural awareness.
Thematic Celebrations Across 14 Days
Each day of Odia Pakhya carries a unique theme, covering a wide range of cultural and social activities such as:

Officials said the initiative aims to strengthen the use of the Odia language, encourage reading habits, and highlight the state’s art, traditions and historical legacy.

The celebrations will culminate on April 14 with a grand observance of the Odia New Year, bringing together people across the state in a vibrant display of culture, unity and pride.
