Bhubaneswar: The much-awaited ‘Ramayana’, starring Ranbir Kapoor, Yash and Sai Pallavi, will have different release dates for Indian and international audiences, producer Namit Malhotra has confirmed.
Speaking to NDTV, Malhotra said the film will release in India during Diwali 2026, while its international release has been scheduled for November 6, 2026.
“It’s releasing in India on Diwali. So, we are releasing internationally on November 6,” Malhotra said.
The recently released trailer has generated considerable interest, offering the first major glimpse of the epic mythology-inspired project. Ranbir Kapoor plays Lord Ram, Sai Pallavi portrays Sita, while Yash takes on the role of Ravana.
The trailer also sets up the central conflict of the story, focusing on the epic battle between good and evil and the clash between Ram and Ravana.
Directed by Nitesh Tiwari, ‘Ramayana’ is being planned as a two-part cinematic saga. While the first instalment is scheduled to arrive in 2026, Part 2 is planned for Diwali 2027.
The ambitious project has attracted attention not only for its star-studded cast but also for its large-scale production and attempt to bring one of India’s most enduring epics to the big screen for a contemporary global audience.
With separate release schedules for India and overseas markets, ‘Ramayana’ is expected to be positioned as a major theatrical event around the Diwali 2026 festive season.
