Bhubaneswar: Celebrity chef Ranveer Brar has been appointed as the brand ambassador to promote Odisha’s rich culinary heritage on the global stage, in an initiative led by the state government.
The agreement was formalised during the Odia Paksha celebrations in the presence of Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi.
As part of the initiative, MasterChef India finalists Anju and Manju, along with winner Abinas Nayak, have also been roped in to amplify the promotion of Odia cuisine.
Expressing his gratitude, Brar highlighted the cultural and spiritual significance of Odisha’s food traditions, particularly the Mahaprasad of Jagannath Temple, and said these deserve global recognition.
He also urged people of Odisha to actively support the campaign through both digital platforms and grassroots engagement.
Officials said the move is expected to boost food tourism and position Odia cuisine prominently on international platforms, showcasing its unique flavours and traditions to a global audience.
