Bhubaneswar: Union Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw will flag off the extended Srinagar–Katra Vande Bharat Express service from Jammu Tawi Railway Station.
The train, which earlier operated between Srinagar and Shri Mata Vaishno Devi Katra, will now run up to Jammu Tawi. The extension brings India’s flagship semi high-speed train directly to the region’s largest city and key rail hub, improving connectivity across Jammu and Kashmir.
Following the flag-off, the minister is scheduled to inspect two major engineering landmarks of the Udhampur Srinagar Baramulla Rail Link (USBRL) project—the Anji Bridge and the Chenab Bridge.
The extension is expected to enhance regional connectivity, boost tourism, and strengthen rail infrastructure in the strategically important Himalayan region.
