Amit Shah Announces Nationwide Smart Border Project for BSF

Bhubaneswar: Amit Shah has announced that the Ministry of Home Affairs will provide extensive technical support to the Border Security Force for establishing a uniform Smart Border system across India’s nearly 6,000-kilometre international borders.

Addressing BSF personnel, the Union Home Minister stated that by the 60th anniversary of the force, the government aims to develop a technologically integrated and standardised border security infrastructure under a single design framework.

According to Shah, work is already progressing to create what he described as a “single impenetrable border security grid” within the next year by equipping the BSF with advanced surveillance and monitoring technologies.

The proposed Smart Border Project will reportedly include deployment of drones, radars, modern cameras and other high-tech systems designed to strengthen border monitoring and improve operational efficiency.

The Home Minister stated that the initiative is expected to significantly simplify and strengthen the functioning of the BSF by increasing technological support for personnel deployed along sensitive border regions.

He further said the government intends to make the borders with Bangladesh and Pakistan more secure through advanced surveillance infrastructure and integrated monitoring systems.

Officials believe the Smart Border initiative will enhance real-time tracking capabilities, strengthen anti-infiltration measures and improve overall border management through technology-driven security architecture.
