Bhubaneswar: The Union Government will launch an Annual Free Health Check-up Camp for workers aged 40 years and above under the framework of the new labour codes on May 7, aimed at strengthening preventive healthcare and worker welfare across the country.
The initiative will be launched by Mansukh Mandaviya from ESIC Hospital Basaidarapur under the guidance of Narendra Modi.
According to the Ministry, the programme is intended to promote preventive healthcare, early diagnosis, and improved medical access for workers, particularly those in the organised and semi-organised sectors. The initiative forms part of broader labour welfare measures linked to the implementation of the new labour codes.
Officials said the annual health screening campaign seeks to ensure greater care, dignity, and social security for workers by encouraging regular medical check-ups and timely treatment of age-related health conditions.
The launch is expected to mark a significant step in integrating occupational welfare with public health initiatives under the Centre’s labour reform agenda.
